Abia Warriors forward, Ikoi Etta, has reflected on his contribution to the club’s 2-0 victory over Sporting Lagos in a Matchday 4 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The encounter was played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, where Abia Warriors secured all three points through two late goals.

Etta came on as a second-half substitute and opened the scoring in the 88th minute before Chukwumeka Obioma doubled the advantage in the 90th minute.

Speaking after the match, Etta said his introduction from the bench was part of the team’s tactical plan, with the aim of adding fresh energy to the game.

“It’s an amazing win for us, as I always come on in the second half of matches to complement my team,” Etta said.

“It’s our game plan because there is this energy I bring to the team, which is why our coach usually introduces me from the bench to come on and complement the team. It really worked out for us.”

The victory gave Abia Warriors an important result on the road as they continued their campaign in the NPFL.
