Amstel Malta has supported women in Abia State with business grants and beauty gift packs as part of activities marking this year’s August Meeting held at the New Government House, Umuahia, on Friday, August 28.

The August Meeting is an annual tradition across the South East, during which women return to their hometowns to reconnect with their communities, deliberate on communal issues and celebrate their shared heritage.

As part of the event, Amstel Malta celebrated women in Abia State by awarding business grants to five female entrepreneurs to support the growth of their businesses and encourage their entrepreneurial ambitions.

The event was attended by Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, and the First Lady, Mrs Priscilla Otti, alongside the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr Maureen Aghukwa, who also presented business grants to female entrepreneurs at the gathering.

Amstel Malta also partnered with Zaron Cosmetics to distribute specially curated beauty packs to attendees, continuing a similar collaboration between both brands at last year’s August Meeting.

Speaking at the event, Senior Brand Manager of Amstel Malta, Francis Obiajulu, said the brand was proud to participate in gatherings that celebrated women beyond their everyday responsibilities.

He added that the partnership with Zaron Cosmetics brought another dimension to the event by encouraging women to make time for themselves while continuing to support their families and communities.

Also speaking, Senior Manager, Marketing and Communication at Zaron Cosmetics, Aderinsola Adetunji, expressed the company’s delight at continuing its partnership with Amstel Malta to celebrate the women behind the August Meeting tradition.

Adetunji noted that women made significant contributions to their families and communities, describing the event as an opportunity to remind them to also prioritise their own wellbeing.

Earlier in August, Amstel Malta extended similar recognition to women participating in the August Meeting in Enugu State, where it honoured them for their contributions to their families and communities.

The brand said its continued presence at August Meeting events across the South East reflected its commitment to celebrating women beyond a single occasion and engaging them in spaces that are important to them.
