Stakeholders in Abia North, under the Alliance for Good Governance, have expressed support for the continuation of Governor Alex Otti’s administration beyond 2031.

The stakeholders made their position known during a meeting held at the Isieke Civic Centre, Ugwueke, in Bende Local Government Area, where prominent sons and daughters of the zone gathered to discuss the future of governance in Abia State.

Presenting the communique issued at the end of the meeting, the group’s secretary and spokesperson, former Vice-Chancellor of Abia State University, Uturu, Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa, said the gathering was aimed at reaffirming the stakeholders’ commitment to sustaining what they described as the current model of governance in the state.

According to Mkpa, the group believes the progress recorded in the state should continue beyond the 2031 administration.

He said the stakeholders were calling for collective efforts towards the actualisation of Otti’s second-term bid, including voter education and mobilisation, particularly at the grassroots.

The group described itself as non-partisan and comprising elders from Abia North, urging residents and other stakeholders not to allow what they consider an opportunity for continued governance to be lost.

Mkpa said the stakeholders would continue to advocate for the sustenance of what they described as good governance in Abia State and called on the people to remain involved in the democratic process.
